New 4x4s to Hit the Trails with in 2017

We’re used to being covered in mud and dust. In fact, we love it. However, every once in a while we do crave something new and shiny! Check out these new 4×4 vehicles to hit the trails with in 2017.

Jeep Wrangler Sport

We’re partial to Jeeps. It’s not our fault they excel in the some of the most treacherous conditions man has traveled. The new Jeep Wrangler Sport features stamped steel skid plates that cover the fuel tank and transfer case of its underbody. Heavy-duty red tow hooks forged from steel and frame-mounted will come in handy when pulling other vehicles (or yourself) out of trouble.

One of our favorite features is the washout interior. There are floor drain plugs located just beneath the foot space. Yes, you can actually wash the inside of your car, rinse it and drain easily after every adventure. Added storage to the Wrangler like fold and tumble seats, a lockable storage bin in the center console and storage nets makes this 4×4 a formidable opponent for any trail.

Dodge Ram Power Wagon

One of the most impressive features of the Dodge Ram Power Wagon is the 12,000-lb capacity winch that comes in handy on and off the trail. Goodyear Workhorse tires provide great traction in mud, dirt or snow with electronically lockable front and rear axels. Of course, it has skid plates to protect the fuel tank and transfer case, plus Bulstein shocks. Add all that with the power of a 6.4l Hemi engine, the Power Wagon is aptly named.

Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro

Whether it’s a journey through the desert or a quick mountain trip, the Tacoma TRD Pro has everything you need for any outing. Conquer challenging terrain without breaking a sweat thanks to automatic transmission-equipped models like Multi-terrain Select and Crawl Control 9 with electronically controlled locking rear differential. A mandrel-bent, stainless steel cat-back exhaust is bolted to the underside of the Tacoma TRD Pro to help maximize performance and efficiency. A TRD-engineered ¼-in. aluminum skid plate protects the crucial bits up front. We think you’ll have fun on and off the road with this 4×4.

Chevy Colorado ZR2

The 2017 Colorado ZR2 is loaded with segment-exclusive features like Multimatic shocks, an available Duramax 2.8L Turbo-Diesel engine and front and rear electronic locking differentials. Thanks to spool-valve shocks, drives won’t need to worry about finding a specific setting for any situation they’re in off or on the road. Add that to a brand new advanced 3.6L V6 engine with eight-speed transmission and you’ll go wherever you please.

Ford F-150 Raptor

A beast of an off-road vehicle, the Ford F-150 Raptor is ready to eat some dirt. Losing 500-pounds thanks to a high-strength, military-grade, aluminum alloy body and cargo bed improves the Raptor’s power-to-weight ratio by more than 16 percent.

An all-new 10-speed transmission allows unparalleled launch and full-throttle power in even the most extreme situations of off-road conditions. Pair that with the new Terrain Management System with six different preset modes for different environment conditions and you have a vehicle to be reckoned with. You can even monitor your truck’s pitch, roll, driveline status and starring angle on a 8” productivity screen located on the dashboard.

What 4×4 truck or vehicle are you excited about hitting the Colorado off-road trails with in 2017?
