Much to the joy of Jeep fans worldwide, the JL Wrangler has been confirmed. The much-anticipated model has long been in the rumor mill but now details have emerged. As far as edition options go, the Sahara trim will be available on the four-door model. The two-door model will boast options of Sport and Rubicon.
As far as exterior updates go, a power sliding hardtop has been confirmed. Fully removable doors, a two-hinged foldable windshield, curved headlights and full length drip rails. Top options will include
- Body Color 3-piece hard top
- Black 3-piece hard top
- Black Sunrider soft top
- Tan Sunrider soft top
- Black power soft top
Interior updates bring a plethora of new features. Among these are, grab handles, concave steering wheel, heated steering wheel, lumbar support adjustment and a physical hand lever for ebrake.
The JL Wrangler series will bring with it new axles for each edition:
Rubicon: Dana M210 Wide Front – Dana M220 Wide Rear
Sport: M186 Front – NG Dana 44HD Rear
Sahara: 205MM Front – NG Dana 44HD Rear
Jeep fans will rejoice at the news that the JL will come with three engine options to choose from. This customizability is expected to be a large selling point for the model. The options will be:
- 3.0L VM Turbo Diesel with new 8HP75 Trans
- 2.0L I4 DOHC DI Turbo Engine – Belt Starter Generator – 850RE Trans
- Chrysler version of ZF 8 Speed Trans
- 3.6L Pentastar V6 24 VVT 850RE Trans
